Located in Las Cruces, New Mexico, the Burrell College of Osteopathic Medicine (BURRELL) was established in 2013. The four-year, fully accredited, private osteopathic medical school is student-centered, utilizing the latest medical education technologies and methods to ensure student success in all fields of medicine — from primary care to subspecialties like surgery, anesthesiology and emergency medicine. BURRELL is a freestanding college located within New Mexico State University’s research park. Like other osteopathic medical schools, BURRELL utilizes a distributive model for years three and four clinical education and operates regional academic centers in Albuquerque, Gallup and Southeastern New Mexico, El Paso, Texas, Tucson, Arizona and the Space Coast of Florida in Rockledge, FL. Research laboratories at the College include a basic science research laboratory for cellular and molecular studies and a human physiology laboratory that can support research in areas of osteopathic manipulative medicine and human metabolism during exercise.
