CSF Committees
CSF manages priorities and tasks through committees. Committee meetings provide an opportunity for members to receive updates on current and upcoming issues that impact our priorities. Participation in committees is open to both Executive and Associate members.
Legislative Affairs Committee
The Legislative Affairs Committee provides input on all Congressional interactions and tracking of Congressional action. This includes submitting and tracking appropriations requests and proposals for authorizing legislation, as well as providing feedback on legislation sent to CSF by Congressional stakeholders. This committee also occasionally manages agency requests for information and other correspondence which are non-regulatory in nature. A dedicated CSF staff member works with members throughout the year to ensure we have consensus on upcoming appropriations requests and other legislative items. In addition, the CSF staff member provides updates to the members on space issues under consideration by the Administration and Congress to inform and educate members on government priorities. For certain issues, including space launch infrastructure and in-space activities, committee members participate in working groups tasked with initial consideration of relevant items prior to review by the full committee.
Regulatory Affairs Committee
The Regulatory Affairs Committee shares information on current and future regulatory matters. The Committee is active in responding to federal agency requests for information and notices of inquiry, providing industry guidance to regulatory proposals. During the monthly committee meetings, CSF staff provide updates to the Committee on issues that impact current and future potential regulation. The forum provides an opportunity for members to discuss regulatory items which impact the industry. For certain issues, including export controls and in-space activities, committee members participate in working groups tasked with initial consideration of relevant items prior to review by the full committee.
