Announcing Inaugural Recipients of Rising Star Award and Commercial Space Scholarship

The Matthew Isakowitz Foundation Programs (MIFP), in partnership with the Commercial Space Federation (CSF), has announced the inaugural recipients of two significant honors: the Matthew Isakowitz Rising Star Award and the 2025 Commercial Space Scholarship. The Rising Star Award was presented to Shaurya Luthra, Co-founder of Northwood Space, in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the space industry. Luthra’s innovative solutions to complex space-related challenges have earned him the title, as he continues to pave the way for future advancements in commercial space exploration. This prestigious award underscores his leadership and vision in a rapidly evolving industry.

In addition to the Rising Star Award, ten exceptional students have been selected as the first cohort of the Matthew Isakowitz Commercial Space Scholars. This program, a cornerstone of MIFP’s mission, provides the scholars with a unique opportunity to engage in paid internships within the heart of the commercial space sector in Washington, D.C. These internships offer hands-on experience and valuable networking opportunities with industry leaders and innovators. The program is designed to equip the next generation of space professionals with the skills, knowledge, and connections they need to make a lasting impact on the commercial space field.

The Matthew Isakowitz Foundation Programs continue to play a crucial role in fostering the growth of space exploration by empowering young talent. By supporting rising stars like Shaurya Luthra and providing scholars with practical experiences in the space industry, MIFP is contributing to the development of the next generation of leaders. The foundation’s ongoing commitment to advancing commercial space exploration promises to help shape the future of the industry and inspire future pioneers to reach new heights in space discovery.
