Jimmy Moffitt serves as Vice President of Spaceport Operations at Space Florida, where he provides executive leadership for the operation, maintenance, safety, readiness, and strategic development of Space Florida’s spaceport facilities and assets. His responsibilities include oversight of the Launch and Landing Facility at Kennedy Space Center and coordination of operational activities across Florida’s broader spaceport system. He works closely with NASA, the U.S. Space Force, the Federal Aviation Administration, the Florida Department of Transportation, commercial aerospace companies, and other government partners to enable launch, landing, testing, payload, aviation, and special-event activities.

Before joining Space Florida, Jimmy managed general aviation airport development at the Jacksonville Aviation Authority and contributed to Cecil Spaceport’s horizontal launch license issuance and spaceport development initiatives. His earlier experience includes airport operations, property and agreement management, capital planning, regulatory compliance, construction safety, tenant coordination, and staff leadership. He also briefly served in guest services and operations management at the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex.

Jimmy holds a Bachelor of Science in Aviation Management and Safety and a master’s degree in Technical Management from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. His career reflects a longstanding commitment to aviation, spaceport operations, public-private partnership, and the safe expansion of Florida’s aerospace capabilities.
